Ian Rae, CEO

Ian is the founder of CloudOps, a cloud engineering and operations firm that combines private cloud building and managed services with public cloud deployment and operations to offer a hybrid cloud solution featuring the best of both worlds.
Ian is also a partner at Year One Labs, a lean startup incubator and is the cofounder of the RPM startup centre ( in Montreal.
Prior to the emergence of clouds, Ian founded Syntenic, a web operations company, and was responsible for Engineering at Coradiant and IT at Canderel Management.



Pierre-Luc Bisaillon, COO

Pierre-Luc Bisaillon started his career in a product management role at Matrox Graphics in Montreal, After moving to Toronto, he became a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he provided strategic business direction to several large Canadian corporations. Subsequently, Pierre-Luc ran his own management consulting practice, providing marketing, strategy and fundraising advice to start ups and small businesses. He also contributed white papers on the venture capital industry, business intelligence and platforms for innovations for customers such as the Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity and Don Tapscott (for his book Wikinomics). Later, he went on to apply his skills to various sales and operations positions at Dell Computers, before joining CloudOps in 2012. Pierre-Luc earned an electrical engineering degree from McGill University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto). He lives in Montreal with his wife and three children and still manages to play Ultimate Frisbee.



Alistair Croll, VP CloudOps Research

Alistair Croll is an entrepreneur, analyst, and author. He has founded several companies in the area of network infrastructure, performance management, and web technology, and chairs a number of the tech industry’s largest events on cloud computing, Big Data, and entrepreneurship including Cloud Connect, Strata, Interop, and the International Startup Festival. He is also the creator of the bitnorth conference series. Alistair is the author of three books on performance, operations, and analytics, and is currently working on Lean Analytics, part of the Lean series from O’Reilly Media, which shows startups how to use data to build better startups faster. In 2010, he co-founded Year One Labs, an early stage startup accelerator, and he is an angel investor and hands-on advisor to numerous startups and investor organizations. Most of what Alistair says, passed through notoriously poor filters, can be found on Twitter or his blog, Solve For Interesting.



Marc Paré, VP Sales

Marc Paré is responsible for driving new revenue in addition to managing the growing client base. Marc has 14 years of experience in the area of information technology. He has a background in sales, web operations and product management with a proven track record of success. Prior to joining CloudOps in 2012, he held the position of Field Sales Manager representing the Cloud Networking solutions at Citrix. Prior to joining Citrix, Marc had various business and technical roles over a 10-year career at Coradiant. Marc has a bachelor’s degree in MIS from Concordia University.
